Cost

Inquiries and discussion about possible artwork is free. Generally, cost depends on:

1.Cost of artwork and/or preparation of the surface.

2.Cost of travel and/or lodging.

3.Cost of supplies.

Murals

The cost of a mural depends upon many factors like size, detail, complexity of the wall (obstructions, height etc.), location and the surface of the wall. If an exterior wall is over 10 feet high, Tobin will need a lift or scaffolding provided. He is also able to rent these independently himself. However, it would add extra cost to the final total. On these occasions, a ladder is not satisfactory because of the constant ascent and descent that needs to be made in order to change paint colors and to gain perspective of the work's progress. Also, there is a higher risk of injury and death when working on a tall ladder.

Fine Art

The cost of fine art varies depending on the drawing and/or painting medium and the surface. For example, a drawing is less expensive than a painting but can be extremely bold and attractive on it's own. Painting with oils increases material cost compared to acrylic paint. A piece of work on canvas is more expensive than on high quality paper. The amount of details required in the work increases the time it takes to render the image, thus increasing cost as well. After discussing size, medium, and subject matter, Scott Tobin will be able to give you a free estimate of cost.
